The Pineapple Crochet Stitch

I found this stitch on Pinrest, a very interesting place for collectors!
 I'm always looking for crochet stitches that look like knitting, so I was quite exited to try it out.

First of  all, to work the pattern, you need to brake yarn for every row,
you can not turn and work back. Or you must work in rounds.
After the 2 first rows, see image, I worked forth and back, and achieved another pattern.
The pattern is nice enough, but not as flat as I imagined.
So......not an alternative to knitting!!
