I miss my shadow!

You see........in my front garden there is a wonderful Bougainville! It's big, like a tree, and has a great shadow in summertime. To sit under this tree in the afternoons was so lovely!

My favorit spot!
This "winter" we had 2 days with 1 or 2 C below 0, and Bougainville does NOT like that.
Spring came, and no green leaves on most of the tree! Weeks went on........nothing, just some of the branches grew leafs and eventually these beautiful purple flowers, also much later than last year.
It's so sad, this tree is there since the -70's, and I miss my shadow!
What to do?!

This year just a few leafs gives
a poor shadow!

A SUN SCREEN!

Think - think - think!

How to fix a sun screen without spending a lot of money?

Curtains for mu sun screen project!

Resolution:

Off I went to the local Tuesday market. Found a pair of horrible polyester curtains, made in China, 3 m long each, and 1,5 m wide for only 20 E.

Home I went with my new curtains.
I had to cut one of them, as it was to much fabric. I sew it together by hand, and strung them up with simple cotton string.

It works;but the fabric could have been wider to give even more shadow.
But anyway, NOTHING is like the real shadow of a tree!!

The screen seen from the balcony on 1 floor,
from here you also can see how damaged the Bougainville is

BUSY DAYS!

It’s really warm these days here in lovely Italy! Too warm to run around doing everything I like to have done.
But…….I managed to make a sun screen over the front yard.
Why I had to do that, I'll blog about tomorrow!

Feeling wise!

Yes, it's true what has been known for centuries!
In Norwegian it's a saying: Øving gjør mester! Translated: Exercise makes a master!
You go to bed and feel like the most stupid person on earth, next morning, YESS, the resolution comes up!
Big thing, I figured out how to link Ravelry and Etsy buttons to my shops!
Piece of cake!

DAY 3 OF BLOGGING!

A little bit wiser every day!

"Blackboard," 1877
Homer Winslow,
American romantic painter,
1836-1910

Remember the feeling from school when the maths felt absolutely meeningless, and everyone but you seemed to get it?

Well, eventually it got into the brain, with swet and tears, studying, trying and failing....and trying again! Mostly with help from parents and teachers.

Figuring out the blog-world seam to bring me back to the scooldays, the problem is......this time I only have my self to trust in.
It's exiting too, as I actually resolve small problems every day.
So maybe some weeks from now this blog will look like I want it to!

Have a creativ week!

THE SECOND DAY OF BLOGGING

Late night again!
I've edited some photos in my husbands (from now on called Danilo) Etsy shop today. Took some new shoots of some of his jewelry. The shop link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/wiredesignbydanilo
Everything takes time, more than I plan, so I had a late struggle to get into the blog world trying to understand it all.
Piano piano, as they say here in Italy! I'm convinced that I'll get it eventually!

OK, here vi go!

Today I learned 3 things by an Etsy-blog:

1. Do what you don't feel like doing.
2. Blog and network
3. Teach others

I admit it was a kick! For too long I've avoided what I'm doing right now.

So..........
I have a lot of stuff I want to share with you!
First of all this must be a marketplace for my Etsy shop and my spot on Ravelry.
When I find out how to put in gadgets, I'll show you where to go! At the moment I'll give you the old fashion paste-in links:

As you soon will find out, my passion for the moment is crochet.
For more than a year now I've been working with a series of crochet patterns for publication.

Why crochet? I’ll come back to that later.
Any reason you should be tempted to return to my studio?
I’ll give you some of the topics you’re going to find here with time;

Crochet, Knitting, Paper, Fashion, Jewelry, Interior Decorating, Children’s clothing, to mention some of it.

And I have another passion; The history behind all crafts, I mean, from the start of times!
And another passion; Crafts in Art, I mean; artists painting craft situations!
The most interesting period is the 1800’s. I have a lot of beautiful and inspirational things to show you!
I think I may be born in the wrong century!

Reading my profile you’ll understand this blogger is one of the “born to be a crafter” – humans, raised by crafting parents. I think if I had to, I could build a house by myself, outside and inside. Well, maybe with some electrical- and plumbing help!
I love using my skills, trying out new ideas, planning everything down to the smallest details, and work it out to a finished product. I don't give up until I've got it right.
I’m a very patient person! On all levels! Ask my husband! He will have a little corner of this blog too.

I’d like to have a complete blog right from the start, but with patients and time it will all come out!
My goal is to post something every day, followed by at least 1 photo.

See you!
